Wayne Hester

My Name Is Wayne (Copied from Wayne's My Space page 2006.) February 2,1991-August 23, 2006 I'm 15 years old. I like to ride atvs bikes swimming and hang with my friends and my sister and my brother. I had Osteosarcoma its a type of bone cancer, Im through with treatment!! My sister talks on the phone too much and on msn. My oldest sister is married and has a one year old son and has a new little baby girl. My youngest sister sunny plays the flute in the school band she is very good. On June 13 2005 I had limb salvage surgery on my left leg, its kind of like a knee replace meant just more extinsive. I had 110 staples in my left leg. The surgery took 8 hours because the tumor was wrapped around my artery in my left leg so they had to go in my right leg and take a big vain from it and put it in my left leg.They had to give me 8 units of blood which is about half of the blood in your body. I took chemo therapy for 8 months all my hair fell out but thats no big deal for me like it would've been for a girl who really likes their hair. The cancer spread to my lungs to keep from being killed by the chemo. I've had two lung surgeries this year they think they got it all so thats good. Every 3 months I go to Children health care of Atlanta at Egleston it's the 3rd best children's hospital in America. I go to camp sunshine which is a camp some where between Atlanta and Athens. Its a camp for kids who've had a life threatening disease. Its very fun there I went this past summer. There's a foundation called Make a Wish If you've had cancer you get to do something or get something that you want. I wanted to take me and my family to San Francisco. There I met the mayor and rode a helicopter around the bay, and flew over the Golden Gate Bridge. Me and my Dad also went in side the tower closest to the city on the Golden Gate Bridge here we went up a elevator and then climbed a ladder to the top of the tower! You could see everything up there it was really windy up there too...Then we went home. (Wayne is the son of Paul Wayne and Tammy Duke Hester, Grandson of Robert and Agnes Crews Duke and Bill and Vera Fussell Hester, Great grandson of Elbert and Mabel Crews Crews.)
